Teen Visions For Peace Showcased At Area Libraries

 What is the value of peace in a Minneapolis neighborhood?  More than a dozen teenagers from around the city are featured in a new photography exhibit that portrays their hopes for peace and safety in their communities.

The exhibit will be on display at six libraries around Hennepin County from now through the fall.

The Uptown Association is holding an adopt-a-block cleanup event on Friday, June 22nd.

Uptown residents, businesses, and employees are encouraged to attend.  The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and participants should check in outside Stella's Fish Cafe on 1400 West Lake Street.  Pre-registration is not required.

The Minneapolis Police Honor Guard has been in service for twenty years this month.

It was founded in May of 1992 when the police department identified a need to honor fallen police officers and participate in memorial services.

It's "Adopt-A-Block" program asks community and business leaders to take the initiative in cleaning up their blocks.  The business association will provide the supplies and training.
