Native American students honored with butterfly garden

Minneapolis School students honored the new connections they've made with new friends... Students from the Anne Sullivan Communications Center and Anishinabe Academy got together Thursday, May 6th to plant a butterfly garden.

The garden will contain Native plants, vegetables and flowers to symbolize their connections and how their own school community has grown.  The Academy moved last fall to share facilities with Sullivan.

Native American song, dance and drum performances honored 7th-generation Native American students.

The ceremony was held at 3100-28th Avenue South in Minneapolis.
